Once upon a time there was a hare who, boasting how he could run faster than anyone else, was forever teasing tortoise for its slowness. Then one day, the irate tortoise challenged the hare for a race. They decided the course which is the peak of the hill. The next day at dawn they started the race. The hare founded the tortoise was painfully slow so he decided to eat lunch. Since his lunch was too heavy he took a nap. After he woke up, the tortoise was scarcely a yard from the finish. He ran as fast as he can but it was just too late, tortoise had beaten him to the winning post. The hare was so mad and he asked for another race. The tortoise accepted and he offered the new course of the race which is from the top of the hill to the bottom hill. After one week, they met at the top of the hill. The hare thought this time there is no way that the tortoise can win but the tortoise looked so confident. The race started, and the hare leaped as fast as he can. Suddenly the tortoise flipped his body over and started to use his shell as a sled. It was very fast and it passed the hare at the halfway along the course. The hare got frustrated and he gave up the race. The hare was so shameful and he suffered from a deep depression after the race. One day he decided to kill himself and went out to go to the dangerous forest where lots of wolves and foxes live. As the hare step outside of his house the tortoise was waiting and he said “You are still the fastest animal in our town. I was just lucky to win, my friend.” Suddenly the hare started to cry and told the tortoise that he was sorry for teasing him and they became best friends forever.

Room full of books
I love books. It does not mean that I read lots of books, but I always try to read whenever I can. This picture is my dream. One day I will own a house that has a room with full of books beautifully organized on a huge shelf. In this room, there are two huge book shelves. The owner shelved his books sideways. It is a flashier way of showing books but it might be a little difficult when you want to get one out from the bottom of the stack. The room has a high ceiling, it seems like the ceiling is at least 10 feet high. In the left corner there is a spiral stair case which leads to the second floor. The second floor is a simple structure that is fixed in the room to give an access to the books that are hard to reach from the floor. In the right side of the picture, just in front of the bookshelf, there is a small desk and two chairs. In the middle, there is a big wide table, and there are two dark grey confortable looking sofas. The owner of this room must be crazy about collecting books. I believe he is intelligent and creative. I think most of the books are related to art, because many of the books are colorful. The owner of this room might be an designer or an artist. I feel comfortable in this room. I love places that are full of books and have high ceilings. The smell of the books also makes me calm. Even though it’s just a picture, I can almost smell the room full of books when I look at it.

THE GREATEST INVENTION OF THE 20TH CENTURY- PENICILLIN
I think penicillin is one of the most important discoveries of the 20th century. Hundreds of years ago the average lifespan of humans was only 20-30years. Three out of ten babies died before a year after they were born and half of the them passed away before the age of ten. That was because of diseases such as pneumonia, diarrhea, measles, malaria, smallpox, cholera, etc. Humankind had no clue about these cause of the diseases. They just assumed that these diseases came from curses or bad air at best. It was Pasteur and Koch who finally found out that most of these came from microbes. Studies on microbes showed a progress through years and years and in 1928 Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin, which is one of the first antibiotics that were effective against many previously serious diseases. Fleming knew penicillin would be effective to kill bacteria, but he couldn’t find a way to purify it. A Team of Oxford research scientists led by Howard Florey and Ernst Boris Chain devised a method of purification that was the key to its mass-production. Penicillin saved a large number of lives during WW2 and it led the development of lots of other kinds of evolved antibiotics. The most important reason why I think penicillin is the best invention is because it saved my father’s life when he was suffering from pneumonia when he was in the military. It goes without saying that I wouldn’t exist if penicillin had not been discovered!
